Alice in Wonderland
by Nathan on Apr.08, 2010, under Uncategorized
I went to see this movie weeks ago. We saw it in 3D, which was petty awesome looking. Johnny Depp again played a crazy character, and again he did it well. I guess my only real problem with the film was the story its self . I was hung up on how stupid the Heart Queen was. In one part of the movie the Heart Queen said she could spot the long blond hair of Alice anywhere. Then 5min later Alice shows up in her castle and the Heart Queen doesn’t know who she is. I know it’s a kids story, but I felt it just wasn’t up to par with Tim Burton films.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

I’ll be honest, I wanted to see this movie because Heath Ledger died in the middle of making it. I wanted to see how they pulled off finishing it, and to the writers credit, they did a good job. I can’t really explain the movie. I walked out feeling the same way. It was weird, very colorful, and kind of hard to follow. I entertained by it, but I don’t think I would watch it again. I know this review isn’t much help. If you like Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, Jude Law, Jude Law then see the film. They all play the same person very well.

Sherlock Holmes

This was movie two of the new years movie night. I thought it was a great movie. It was action packed enough for me, as well as clever. Sherlocks Holmes was a smart ass, and I loved it. I also really liked how “magic” was explained. I’m guessing most people didn’t notice this. I did and it’s what made me love the movie.

For Christmas Tandy got me a new wallet. Inside that wallet was a gift card to the Monaco theater. The other night we went to see two movies, this being the first one.
Its a movie about a guy who travels a lot and doesn’t seem to ever want to settle down with a family. Of course, he meets a girl and finds out some things about himself. All while trying to save his job from bring taken over by technology.
I thought the movie was good. Had some funny moments, and some serious ones.

Did You Hear About the Morgans?

WARNING: Spoilers!
So I went to see this while I was up in WI. It was kind of a family thing. The grandparents, parents, and an aunt all went to see it. The movie is your basic chick flick. Guy and girl are on the outs, story progresses and guy and girl get back together. The story around the chick flick part is about guy and girl getting sent to the middle of Montana to live. Guess what? They are city slickers! Yep city slickers that don’t love each other, but find out they do in the end.
