Soul Burger Returns
by Nathan on Oct.07, 2009, under Uncategorized
Yesterday I got a message from @Strages that simple said “ZOMG WTF!!!!! https://twitter.com/tinahicks/status/4664744716″ That is the link to this twitter message “@HSVAlive Soul Burger which is now inside Huntsville Athletic Club on Leeman Ferry”, which is a reply to HSVAlive asking who has the best burger in Huntsville.
After talking with strages for a few minutes yesterday evening we decided Soul Burger being in an Athletic Club was too ridiculous that we had to check it out. So we looked at a map and headed in search of my long lost friend. As we pulled into the Athletic Club we could see tennis courts outside, and a weight room inside. We started to walk toward the door, still thinking this can’t be true. I walked in, looked at the guy sitting at the front counter and said, “This may sound crazy, but is there a burger place in here?” He looked up and said, “Yep, its up stairs, called Soul Burger”. I turned to strages with my mouth wide open and pointed to the stairs, then turned back and ask “You mean like with Cathy cooking and everything”, to which replied “yep” again. As we walked up the stairs the smell of cooking burgers got stronger, then turned the corner and BAM!! Its like we walked into some alternate detention. Sure enough Cathy was standing there in a cooking apron. She looked up and let out a loud, “OH HONEYS!!! YOU CAME!!!!!” She gave us hugs and talked about how she had just opened, and yesterday was her second day open.
The love in the air last night couldn’t have been any stronger. Cathy is a great woman, and makes one hell of a burger. I hope she sticks around for a long while, she has a lot of catching up to do.

Wall-E and the Air Show
by Nathan on Jul.11, 2008, under Uncategorized
Wall-E was pretty good. I wouldn’t say its the greatest Pixar movie but it was damn good. It was visually awesome, and a good story. But it just didn’t have the comedy that other Pixar files have. I do have to admit it did get me thinking more about the environment and wanting to clean it up. I did like how a big company kind of took over everything. I can see that happening to us. I just hope others can also see this happening and that maybe it won’t go as far as it did in the movie.

A couple weeks ago I went to an Air Show here in Hunstville. It was free to get in, but $10 parking and you couldn’t bring any kind of drinks or food in. I guess they really wanted us to pay the $3 for a bottle of water :/ Anywho, Tandy and I went, and met Sara and Jeff there. Well actually outside the fence since Sara and Jeff brought drinks and stuff. While we were sitting there we could see a big storm on the way. Tandy went to get her car while Sara Jeff, and I packed up the stuff, because it was about to start pouring rain. Just as it started Tandy pulled up with her car and we all jumped in. Then I noticed some tents had gotten blown over and just about that time a firetruck went flaying by to the tents. I guess the wind had blown over the tents and 12 people got hurt including a 5 year old boy who was killed. Something fell on him. Man it was weird to see a storm came and go so quickly leaving so many hurt. I guess that’s how mother nature is.
