I have been using Google Reader for about a year now, and I love it. It is the best web based RSS reader out there. A few months back I ran across a Firefox extension Google Reader Notifier. This had proved to be a great extension for showing how many items were unread in my RSS Reader. Then about a month ago the developer update and broke the extension. It just wasn’t reliable anymore. So I went on a search for a another extension, and what I found was even better. Google Reader Watcher does the same thing but uses SSL for its connection. I must recommend this extension for all Google Reader users.

Well later this month Firefox 2.0 is suppose to be released, and with it comes spell checking. Although I have been using spellbound for months now, built in spell checking would be great also. Anyway, in my resent change to Linux I have had troubles with spellbound. But then I ran across this dev version which after I installed the dictionaries I installed the extension, and everything works better than the older version. So if you just can’t wait till Firefox 2.0 then get this dev version and you are ready to go. w00t!!!

Update: Sorry I had linked to the wrong page. All fixed now

So I have to tell you, I have been a user of Firefox since it was a baby, back in the days it was called Phoenix. Yep back when you didn’t have great and wonderful extensions, back when you could download it and just run it. Firefox has come a long way, in the past few years. It has risen to take the world by storm. I believe the latest statistics I read, was the Firefox was used my about 15% of the people. But I will you thats not good enough. We need to make it higher. So if you don’t use Firefox, you can get it through this link. If you do use Firefox, this link has some good stuff for you.
Visit Download Mozilla Firefox
Also if you visit my Firefox tag, you can see the extension I use.

I recently ran across a portable version of Bon Echo, so I am playing with it as my browser at work. I really love all the new things. It has built in spell checking, as well as Google suggest in the search bar. Find as you type is automatically working, and the new theme….well its awesome looking. The only problem I may have is that the Tabbrowser extension I normally use, has issues with Bon Echo. Although of the the best features from that extension is build in Bon Echo. Each tab has a close box. This is great. I do have one suggestions. When clicking on the rss box in the address bar, I am asked what to do. This is wonderful, but what i want to do is set a bookmark as my default rss applications. Because I use my own web based rss reader. Therefore I can just sent an rss feed to that bookmark and it puts the feed in my reader. I feel this beta is going to be awesome. So please check back and see if my thoughts have changed.

Thanks
Nathan

Update 1 — Well my paste and go extension doesn’t work completely. The ctrl-shift-v works but ctrl-shift-s doesn’t seem to past anything into the search bar.

Update 2 — Ok so Bon Echo has crashed, really only once. When I started it back up…guess what…it remembered my open tabs and any info I have on those tabs. Thats pretty cool.

Update 3 — I have noticed that Bon Echo seems to be slow with loading pages, as well as sometimes just timing out right away. But I really think when this becomes 2.0 final, it will be a great browser.

Totally awesome. Anyway, Google updated Google Video to make it feel more like YouTube…who the fuck cares, YouTube is better…The shuttle went off…yay! the really excitement happens when it comes back to earth….Apple gets rid of their last CRT monitor computer…and who the fuck cares. Although this looks pretty cool. Ok Digg just sucks now, because I use Thunderbird as my rss reader, I can’t look at any of the news stories out of any section of Digg except Technology, because I have to log in….hope you 4th was better than mine.
