Makers Local 256 Field Trip to Inergi
by Nathan on Dec.17, 2008, under Uncategorized
A couple weeks ago we took a field trip to across the road to Inergi. They invited us over to take a look around and see what they do. The place is huge. They have 3 acres under roof. We only checked out a few places in the building, but all of them were awesome. They make some cool things over there. So if you ever need to have some fast prototyping done, they are the place in town to go to. Here are a few pics I took while we walked around.

I have come to the conclusion that my little vps just won’t cut it for running multiple site, irc, poxy, and who knows what else. So I have decided to make a few changes. If you haven’t noticed the blog isn’t under ssl anymore. This is because I have moved over to Dreamhost. This should make things run faster and administration of the site is way easier. Everything else is pretty much the same, just use “dev.throwthemind.com” I sure hope I haven’t screwed anything up too bad.
Thanks

Saturday we had a Open House / Swap Meet at the shop. I think everything went great. We had about 30 people show up and hang out for a while. Brian made a bunch of t-shirts and we ended up with a bunch of stuff. I think we will be going through it all for a while to come. Thank you everyone that came out, we hope to do this again. Here are some pics I was able to take.
Party, Bowling and Madagascar 2
by Nathan on Nov.13, 2008, under Uncategorized
Saturday evening Tand, Strages and I had went to a party with big blow up jumpy things and then we went bowling. Afterwords Sara met up with us at Hollywood 18 where we went to see Madagascar 2.
First the Party: It was rather fun. There was good food and 4 giant blow up jumpy things. I swear those thing shouldn’t be legal for adults to play in. After about 5 min in one, I could barley walk. It was like I didn’t have legs. It was kind of cold but all in all we had great time.
Second Bowling: Bowling was awesome. We went to the bowling alley on the arsenal. My first game was alright, second kind of sucked, and third was rocking. The third game I got 4 strikes in a row, then a coulee frames later another strike. I think my score on that game was like 188.
Third the Movie: Madagascar was pretty good. Very unrealistic, but hey its a cartoon. I love the penguins they are so damn awesome, and I loved all the zebras. It was a pretty good kids movie, I could have gone without seeing it in the theater.

by Nathan on Nov.11, 2008, under Uncategorized
We will be having an Open House at our location at 3409 Governor’s Drive. It’s next to the Animal Vet Clinic and Sharp Communication. We will be working on projects as well as having a electronic swap meet.
We will have tables set up in the back yard and cars in the parking lot trading all kind of electronics. If you bring CRT’s, we ask that you do not leave them behind. Inside we will be working on projects such as building a new photo-booth, multi touch computer screens, USB Authentication Door Access, and other fun projects.
Have an idea? Get involved and come build it with us. We’re always looking for new involvement at the Shop, and things to showcase to the community!
