Am I an rss addict?
by Nathan on Jan.26, 2007, under Uncategorized
I ran across this link about being a RSS junkie. So since I use Google Reader as my RSS reader I thought I would share with you my Google Reader Trends.
From your 41 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 7,020 items, starred 55 items, and shared 1 items
So what do you think? Major RSS reader or not so much?
I think the Pirates need a Hand.
by Nathan on Jan.24, 2007, under Uncategorized
Someone did a study about pirating movies from this years Oscar nominees. Here are the results they came up with.
- Academy members received screeners for 30 out of 34. (Everything except Click, Monster House, Poseidon, and Black Dahlia.)
- 31 out of 34 films were released online in some form, including camcorder footage. (Everything except Letters from Iwo Jima, Notes on a Scandal, and Venus.)
- 24 screeners were leaked online. (In several cases, they were leaked months before Academy screeners were mailed.)
- The average length of time between a film’s USA release and its first appearance online is 12 days.
- 9 screeners appeared online before they were mailed to Academy members.
- On average, a screener appears online 24 days before it’s received by Academy members. (Excluding these early leaks, the average time is 13 days.)
I think the Pirates need a hand. They have done some fine work. They are able to release movies right after they hit the theater. They rip DVD’s and compress them (you know who you are). They put them up for download. All that for what reason?0 None other then for personal use and fun. So I say let us stand and give a hand to those individuals that keep breaking the DMCA a big round of applause.
Apple Fanboy
by Nathan on Jan.23, 2007, under Uncategorized
The other day I was called an Apple fan boy. If you would have told me a few years ago that I would be the owner of a Mac. I wouldn’t have believed you. See I didn’t know much about computers say 5 years ago. Nor did I care to. But it is a different story now. I will admit the reason I got a MacBook Pro was because I could still use Windows. But really after only about 2 weeks I don’t miss Windows. I never really had any problems with Windows, I just thought maybe I should broaden my scope of computers beyond Windows, and very little Linux. To sum up the reason foe getting a MacBook Pro was not to be a Apple fan boy, but really to learn a different operation system, and since OSX is based on BSD Linux, I can learn more commands and great Linux things also. But I don’t guess its really what i think that makes me a fan boy it is what everyone else thinks. So whatever I guess.
The United States has gone nuts!!

I teacher could be sentenced to 40 years in prison because her computer had porn pop ups. If anyone should be send to jail it should be Microsoft. This is just plain bull shit. If you can show me one 7th grader that has yet to see boobs, I will show you a lier. Every 7th grader has seen a playboy or has watched lite night HBO. A pop up on a computer screen is nothing new for these kids. If anything I might give them something new to try.
